Top tips for a stand-out entry to Best of British Scrapbooking

Best of British Scrapbooking logoHere are my top tips for preparing your entry for the Best of British Scrapbooking competition

1 Take your time The deadline is 22 August, so you’ve got plenty of time to select your six favourite layouts or to create new ones especially for the competition.

2 Phone a friend! Call in friends and family members when deciding which layouts to submit – they’ll be able to give you an honest opinion. Remember, we want to see the range of your talent so try to choose a mixture of styles and techniques.

3 Get the lighting right If you’re photographing your layouts take them outside to make the most of the light. Even on a cloudy day you’ll get better shots than you would indoors or using a flash. Lay pages flat on the ground and stand above them with your camera.

4 Follow the entry guidelines It sounds obvious, doesn’t it, but every year we get entries without the right number of entries or missing crucial details. Read your entry before hitting send to make sure you’ve got it all there.

Make sure you read the full entry criteria and also the rules before sending in your entries. If you have any questions, drop me an email at the usual address (scrapbookinspirations@futurenet.co.uk) and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
