The first prize winner will receive a whopping £1200 of goodies, while five other winners which each be awarded £600 of scrapbooking stash from our favourite brands. All six winners will also receive a paid commission to create a project for ScrapBook inspirations!
If you're new to scrapbooking you're still in with a chance, as we have a special New Talent category for anyone who has been scrapping for under a year.
How to Enter
First select the category you would like to enter. If you’ve been scrapbooking for under a year at the time of entering you will be eligible for the New Face category. If our Altered Item Challenge appeals, it’s fine to enter this category as well as one of the others. We’ll be looking out for layouts that show imagination, good design sense, a range of techniques, great photos, and your journaling and choice of subject matter are also key!
Best of British Scrapbooking
It doesn’t matter what your style is or what subjects you’ve scrapped, just show us what you can do! Select six layouts that you feel show off your skills the best. Please write about your inspiration for each layout and give us a brief list of supplies and any unusual techniques used. (attach this to the back of your page printouts if you are sending by post, or include it in your email – clearly marking which description goes with which layout.)
Best New Scrapbooking Talent
To enter this category, you must have started scrapbooking in the last year. Choose six of your favourite scrapbook layouts (these can be singles or doubles) and photograph or scan them in. print out your layouts to send in the post or you can email them to us. Please write 50 words about each layout and give us a brief list of the supplies you’ve used. We’d also like to know a bit about what got you started, so please tell us your story.
Altered Item Challenge
We’ve seen many altered objects – from bags to lunch tins, from jewellery boxes to shoes. I know one crafter who scrapbooked her floor and another who scrapbooked her car (yes, really!). So now, we’re challenging you to push the boundaries by altering a novel item of your choice. Points given for originality as well as design appeal! Please also include a paragraph about your inspiration and a supplies list.
Email all images and text to bob2007@futurenet.co.uk, with the category you wish to enter in the subject line (BEST OF BRITISH, NEW TALENT or ALTERED ITEM.)
Alternatively you can send your text, contact details and photos, colour photocopies or colour print-outs to: Best of British, ScrapBook inspirations, Future Publishing, 30 Monmouth Street, Bath BA1 2BW. Make sure you mark which category (or categories) you are entering!
